Ashton Jeanty (LV Raiders): Jeanty is coming off one of the most impressive seasons a college running back has ever produced, as he rushed for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns in his last year at Boise State. Following that stellar year, Jeanty was taken 6th overall by a new-look Raiders team, as Pete Carroll will look for Jeanty to be a focal point of the offense run by Geno Smith.
Cam Ward (TEN Titans): Since early on in the draft process, many expected Cam Ward to be the first pick in the draft, and after a long wait, the Titans made that a reality. Ward threw for 39 touchdowns and 4,313 yards in his senior season at Miami, and the Tennessee faithful will be hoping he can bring some stability to the QB position, which is something they haven't had in a few years.
Travis Hunter (JAX Jaguars): The Jaguars made the first big move of the 2025 NFL Draft by giving up a lot of future capital to move up to the #2 pick to select Travis Hunter. The most recent Heisman winner will be lining up at receiver and cornerback for Jacksonville this season, but the number of snaps he will see on both sides of the ball is yet to be determined. Regardless, Hunter has the potential to be a massive weapon for Trevor Lawrence, as the idea of him lining up next to Brian Thomas Jr. is a scary sight for defenses.

*Odds as of May 14, 2025
Abdul Carter (NY Giants): The Giants may have made noise late in the first round by trading their way back in to select a quarterback, but before all of that happened, they solidified their defensive front by selecting Carter third overall. In his third season at Penn State, Carter led the country with 24 tackles for loss, while also recording 12 sacks. If Carter can come close to those numbers in his rookie season, NY could certainly have one of the best defensive lines in the league this season.
Jalon Walker (ATL Falcons): Many analysts and experts did not expect Jalon Walker to fall in the first round, but after he briefly did, the Falcons drafted him at pick 15. Walker brings elite-level athleticism to the Falcons' defense, as he posted 60 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks in his junior year at Georgia. After a season in which they had the second-lowest sack percentage in the league, Atlanta desperately needed a game-changing defensive player like Walker.
Travis Hunter (JAX Jaguars): As we've already touched on, Travis Hunter will be playing on both sides of the ball in Jacksonville, but how much he is on the field as a cornerback is still a question mark. Hunter is indeed a natural defensive back, and his ball skills on defense should make his transition to the NFL much quicker on this side of the ball. At the end of the day, Jacksonville allowed the most passing yards per game last season, so they certainly will need to keep Hunter on defense for as many snaps as they can.
