One of the futures markets that can provide the biggest payouts in the NFL doesn’t involve players; instead, it is centered around coaches. This narrative-driven award typically sees a ton of movement on the odds board throughout the season and is not just handed to the coach with the most wins, which allows for some long-shot opportunities throughout the season.
The 2024-25 season has been no different. As we come down the stretch, the two coaches with the best odds happen to also be fighting for the same division title. With the NFL season underway, NFL bettors can examine the current board.

Kevin O'Connell (Minnesota Vikings): The expectations for the Vikings were not very high entering the season, but they have proven to be one of the better teams in the NFC. Minnesota is currently 7th in the league in DVOA, per FTNFantasy, as their defense behind Brian Flores has been dominant. Offensively, O'Connell has Sam Darnold in full control of the offense. O'Connell can essentially lock up this award in week 18 if his Vikings can beat the Lions to win the NFC North and clinch the #1 seed in the NFC.
Dan Campbell (Detroit Lions): Turning a franchise around significantly helps a coach regarding this award. While Campbell has gradually turned the Lions organization around, he still has Detroit as the favorite to win the NFC, as they just moved to 13-2 on the year. Campbell is no stranger to the top of the odds board for this award, as he was the favorite around this time last season. If Campbell wants a better chance of securing the award this season, he will need to lead his team to a win over the Vikings in the final week of the regular season.
Andy Reid (Kansas City Chiefs): It sounds crazy to say, but Andy Reid just led his team to a quiet #1 seed in the AFC. Entering week 18, KC has just one loss on their record, and even with that, they'll get to have home-field advantage again this postseason. Reid has continually led the Chiefs to near-flawless regular seasons, yet he has not won a Coach of the Year as the head coach of the team, and it looks as if he is going to fall just short again this season.
