The clutch factor among NBA players has long been debated among basketball fans and the media. The subjective question of who you would want with the ball in their hands for the last shot has been asked countless times over the years. While the question can lead to great conversation, these debates have never truly been quantifiable.
Well, in 2022-23, the league decided to change that by introducing the Clutch Player of the Year Award. Of the three players who have earned the award, the most recent was Jalen Brunson, and depending on the sportsbook, he has opened to win the award again for the 2025-26 season. Down below, we will keep bettors and fans up to date on all odds movement for this market from now until the end of the season.

Odds as of August 12, 2025
Jalen Brunson (NY Knicks): There aren't many players who thrive more in the 4th quarter than Jalen Brunson. When it comes time for the Knicks to either take or hold a lead late in games, Brunson always seems to step up. During the 2024-25 season, Brunson had a 50.4% field goal percentage and 55.3% effective field goal percentage in the fourth quarter. Additionally, during what the NBA considers "clutch time," which is when five points separate teams with five minutes or less to go in a game, Brunson averaged 5.6 points per game, which was the highest average in the league among starters, per NBA.com
Anthony Edwards (MIN Timberwolves): Confidence goes a long way in being clutch, and Anthony Edwards does not lack confidence. More often than not, the ball is going to be in Anthony Edwards' hands, and during clutch time this past season, he averaged 3.7 points while boasting a 58% true shooting percentage, according to NBA.com. Edwards should be able to replicate, if not improve upon, his clutch numbers during the 2025-26 season, as he also had the 4th highest usage rate in the league during clutch time.
Luka Doncic (LA Lakers): The Lakers franchise is now in the hands of Luka Doncic. Sure, he may be teammates with LeBron James, but the Lakers' offense is going to revolve around the young superstar. Doncic has proven countless times that he is not afraid to take the last shot or have the ball in his hands during critical moments. During clutch time last season, Doncic managed a 121.7 offensive rating, and in games separated by five points or less, he also shot 40.6% from beyond the arc, according to BasketballReference.
