Jannik Sinner: The 2024 Australian Open was the first time Sinner became a Grand Slam event winner. In the four Australian Open's prior to last year, Sinner's best finish was reaching the quarter-finals in 2022, but it's clear that Sinner is a different player entering 2025. With two Grand Slam wins under his belt coming into this season, Sinner is understandably the favorite to become a repeat champion. Through his first five matches, Sinner has certainly played like someone who can win the event, and he will face Ben Shelton in the semi-finals, who he has beaten four consecutive times.
Novak Djokovic: In the long and illustrious career of Novak Djokovic, his best win percentage at a Grand Slam event is at the Australian Open. Since 2019, Djokovic has competed in this event five times, winning four of them. In last year's event, the tennis legend was bounced in the semi-finals by Jannik Sinner, so fans should expect Djokovic to come out extra motivated this year to secure his 11th career Australian Open title.
The future Hall of Famer has opened the event with five nice wins, including one over Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals. Now, Djokovic will take on Alexander Zverez in the semi-finals, who he is 8-4 against in his career, with their most recent match coming in 2023.
Alexander Zverev: After wiping the floor with Tommy Paul, Zverev is back in the semi-finals at the Australian Open for the first time since 2020. While Zverev has only lost two matches in the entire tournament, he has a losing record in his career against Novak Djokovic, who he will match up with in the semi-finals.

Iga Swiatek: Success at the Australian Open is not something we've seen from Swiatek in her career, as her 74% win percentage is her lowest across all the majors. Swiatek has competed in six Australian Open's in her career, and her best finish came in 2022 when she reached the semi-finals. Well, to start the 2024 Open, Swiatek has not had much of a problem as she has not played in a third set through her first five matches. In the semi-finals, Swiatek will take on Madison Keys, who she is 4-1 against in her career.
Aryna Sabalenka: From 2018 to 2022, Sabalenka would fail to even reach a quarter-final at the Australian Open. However, over the past two years, she has won the title, giving her an 81% win percentage at the event in her career. In 2024, Sabalenka started and ended the year with Grand Slam wins, as she seems to thrive on hard courts. Unsurprisingly, Sabalenka has opened the 2024 Australian Open with five dominant wins, as she has yet to lose a set. Sabalenka will now play Paula Badosa in the semi-finals, who is fresh off a big win over Coco Gauff.
Paula Badosa: For the first time in her career, Badosa is set to play in the semi-finals of a major event. Following her impressive win over Coco Gauff, she will now take on the tournament favorite in, Aryna Sabalenka. In the seven matches they've played, Badosa has lost five of them, with the most recent match coming at Roland Garros in 2024.
