The UEFA Champions League answers the question of how premier clubs from around the world would stack up against competition from outside their respective leagues. All of the well-known clubs duke it out throughout the season in a range of exhilarating matches in the hopes of adding another championship to their already strong legacies.
Real Madrid took home the trophy in 2023-24, winning their 15th Champions League title and sixth in the last 11 years. Currently, FC Barcelona, PSG, and Real Madrid have the best odds of becoming champions as the event enters the quarter-finals. FC Barcelona: With a 6-1-1 record and a (+15) goal differential during match play, Barcelona finished second in the standings with 19 points. By being so successful, Barcelona drew a bye during the knockout stage. With action resuming for them in the Round of 16, they picked up a 4-1 aggregate win over Benfica. They would then pick up a 4-0 win over Dortmund in the quarter-finals, setting them up nicely to advance to the next round.
Paris St. Germain: Despite getting the tough draw of Liverpool in the Round of 16 and losing the first match 1-0, PSG was able to sneak by them on penalty kicks after a 1-0 win in the second match. By eliminating one of the favorites for the event, PSG has shot up the odds board and set themselves up with a quarter-final showdown with Aston Villa, in which they won the first game 3-1.
Arsenal: In eight Champions League matches, Arsenal has only lost one game, and to start the quarter-finals, they secured a 3-0 win over defending champion Real Madrid. By winning by that margin, Arsenal is in an excellent spot to eliminate Real Madrid and move closer to their first-ever Champions League title.
