Boston Celtics: Over the past few years, the Celtics have become a mainstay in the Eastern Conference Finals. However, during the 2023-24 season, they finally broke through and won their first title with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. With their core group of players remaining the same, the Celtics have picked up where they left off from last season, ranking third in the league in points per 100 possessions in non-garbage time (120.5) per Cleaning the Glass.
Oklahoma City Thunder: Last season, the youthful OKC Thunder earned valuable playoff experience as the number-one seed in the Western Conference. Despite falling short in the conference semi-finals, the Thunder proved they have the talent to make deep runs into the postseason. With Donovan Mitchell playing at an MVP-caliber level and guys like Evan Mobley taking the next step toward stardom, the Cavs sit atop the Eastern Conference with a 34-5 record.
