The first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff ended with an Ohio State win, which means it's time to start looking ahead to the 2025-26 season. While the Buckeyes have opened as the favorite to become repeat champions, like many other favorites, they will have a new quarterback under center, which could change a lot.

Texas Longhorns: It is officially Arch Manning time in Austin, Texas. After sitting behind Quinn Ewers for two years, Manning is set to take over a Texas team that has fallen just one game short of the National Championship in two consecutive seasons. Like any elite program, the Longhorns will be losing a few vital aspects of the team to the NFL Draft, but the Longhorns are bringing in the #1 recruiting class in the country, according to 24/7.
Ohio State Buckeyes: For the first time since 2014, the Ohio State Buckeyes are National Champions. Despite losing to Michigan, the Buckeyes dominated the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff behind veteran quarterback Will Howard and an elite defense. While Howard and a few other key players on both sides of the ball will be headed to the draft, the Buckeyes still project to be one of the best teams in the country. With Jeremiah Smith coming back after a record-breaking freshman year, the Buckeyes' offense under new offensive coordinator Brian Hartline could dominate again if highly touted redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Sayin lives up to expectations.
Georgia Bulldogs: Many expected Carson Beck to continue the Georgia Bulldogs' dominance, but after falling short in two straight seasons, Beck has moved on to Miami, while the Bulldogs put their faith into Gunner Stockton. Kirby Smart could have easily gone into the portal to grab another quarterback, but instead, he's putting a lot of confidence into Stockton, whose first career start came in the College Football Playoff quarter-finals. Outside of Stockton, the Bulldogs brought in the #2 recruiting class, which is crucial since they are only returning seven starters between offense and defense.
